Strategy and a Memoir to a Nice Roommate in MS

how does one just pick up and move with almost no money and where would you go, esp if you lived in California? this for all usa people.. others, look at the maps in your area and continent and act accordingly..

Hopefully you have no family, and are single.

1. Identify where you want to live by perusing the maps I posted of the USA. The game is played the same almost everywhere.

2. Save up enough money for gas, insurance, and a hotel stay and start hunting for rooms or studios to rent and hopefully you have good credit. Plenty of "low level" jobs to work in like grocery stores, etc and start working.

Sometimes you might need a job first so when you are at the hotel/motel, apply to work at a job and then find a place to live.

Those who are stuck in the trappings of wealth.. hence, the trappings of wealth..

can you walk away?

The writing is on the wall...

It takes a minute to get your bearings, but if you started thinking about leaving everything in california, finish your thoughts quickly.. every minute is precious..

remember the DUST bowl and the great migration west... well.. it will be the great migration east.. back to the Midwest but strategically..

I would look for places areas away from the New Madrid Faultline areas, and google those areas.. I would plan very carefully how much you actually need to pack and survive on as far as things..

when i was mobile in my car by myself, all I had was a microwave, my sleeping bag/pillow/bedding, pictures, phone, wallet and a tv.. that was it.. oh and clothes.. i might have had a book or two.. and then i found a roommate,

when i was in Mississippi, a nice old volunteer lady at a hospital front desk, bertha lepre rented her room out and i paid her 400 bucks a month.. which was sooo good for Mississippi because their minimum wage was 2 bucks an hour. lol.. gas was also 59 cents a gallon too.. lol, yes, she got a great deal.

i worked at the casinos.. people can work for grocery stores, office work, labor, gas station, etc.. but be careful.. the public is rather chaotic..

so. you can just pick up and leave and essentially start over.. i did it many many many many many times..

so if i can start over again with nothing.. i can only imagine a person with savings and pension can find ways to liquidate, if possible and get the hell away from the coast lines, the west and even the florida areas and start over..

paradise lost.

even meeting my soon to be husband.. i arranged a roommate with a craigslist gal hahh o gosh, before I told him I was on my way which was on the salt flats of Utah from cali..

i left cali at least 6 times.. fl Washington Hawaii ms, az and ohio..

it can be done on a dime or two..

lol i went for broke.. lol nothing to lose except my pride.

change is sooo good

as far as roommates, strangers are sketchy, so if you can find a studio in an ok area.. do that.. trust your gut..

the golden age of Hollywood is over.

biotech is all over the world.. Genentech is pulling out of the peninsula in california.. the tech industry is out of california..

Oregon and washington are right on the faultlines..

go east of the mississippi and if you move to the panhandle of Texas and Oklahoma, i hope you can handle harsh winters...

near the great lakes is a great place..

This is a nice tribute to her. A nice memory. I didn't know she was born during the year of the great stock market crash. She has seen so much. And she died not too long after I started the insurance industry. Her husband died in a recliner in the family room. She showed me where he died. She was a very nice lady. She had a nice family too. I think her grandchildren were at Texas A&M. I do remember chatting with her grandson on IM when she let me use her computer.

She had good kids. I remember the kitchen and the family room and even the wood paneling all over the house. And she had a cute little toy poodle. I forget the name of the dog but it was such a cute dog. Mississippi was like stepping back in time. Mississippi was a great experience. It was a lot of fun and so much history.

Yeah I had a little old lady as a roommate. And she was such a nice lady.
